Owner Rob Hickok has been around the hand scraping specialty of the flooring industry for the past two decades. In his home town of Chicago, he started his career in the early '80s waxing hand scraped floors for one of the pioneer masters of this special flooring. Over the years Mr. Hickok ran a successful hardwood flooring company, yet always stayed in touch with his mentor and teacher of the art of hand scraping. That same company eventually offered Mr. Hickok a sales and management position which he held for five years. With the passion to continue to create this exquisite style of flooring and the dedication to provide service and the quality of the REAL THING type of product, he opened Allwood Plank Flooring Inc. The company now produces fine hand scraped plank flooring, not only for its discriminating clientele of interior designers, architects, and home owners, but also to qualified builders and flooring contractors.
