All flooring is made of 3/4"solid wood. All lumber is uniformly kiln-dried to 6-9% moisture content prior to being milled into flooring. Flooring is machine milled (all four sides) with a NOFMA compliant tongue and groove on the edges and butt ends (up to 7†wide). All planks are back channel relieved for stability. Each plank is face graded and will have character markings consisting of, but not limited to, wild grain, knots, pin holes, mineral streaks, and some color variations displayed by sap and heart wood ( Hickory displays heavy sap and heart wood differences).
Plank Sizes:
4", 5", 6"and 7" widths sold in random lengths. Board lengths are not exact and will range from 2' to 8'long. Long length only and wider planks are available. Depending on species and grade, some 7"and wider planks may not be end matched but end grooved for spline (slip tongue) installation.
Guarantee:
Within 30 days, but prior to installation, if you are not completely satisfied with your flooring, return it in its original condition and packaging, freight prepaid for replacement or refund. Custom orders are excluded.
Installation Guidelines:
Assessment and monitoring of site conditions is crucial to the successful outcome of a wood floor installation. Sub-floor moisture levels as well as environment conditions are the most frequent contributing factors to hardwood floor failures.
We strongly recommend that our flooring be installed and final finished by a professional flooring contractor experienced in random width plank flooring installation. Installation should begin after all wet work such as drywall, plaster and stone works is complete. Site environment must be controlled and weather tight. We recommend our planks be laid into a quality wood adhesive fully trowel spread over the sub-floor and blind nailed not less than every six to eight inches. Any adhesive seeping up between the boards or contaminating the surface should be cleaned with mineral spirits immediately. Some sub-floor systems or radiant heat sub-floors require alternative installation procedures.
